God has been gracious to us and has been with us through our journey of love and life. He has carried us through some of the most difficult times and has given us joy in the midst of sorrow. He has also been loving and given us abundant blessings. Most importantly, He has provided us with faith. May we share that faith with others.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
"God's gifts put man's best dreams to shame".

February 2018

February brought more snow, but also some nice weather (at least nice enough to go to the park).

Lilly went sledding for the first time down the dill at Central.

The kids loved having Bigby style hot chocolate.

Lilly found a new favorite movie - Leap

Liam studied the presidents in school.  Dave came to Liam's class to give a presentation on Millard Fillmore, the most unforgettable president.
All the seconds graders loved having Dave in class.  Some of them said they wished he would be president, or least principal of the school.

We're Adopting!

The Herman Family has some exciting news!  We are in the process of adopting a child from South Korea.  Liam and Lilly are both really excited to have a new brother or sister.  Liam has been praying specifically for a brother.  The time-frame will fall into place once we get farther along in the process.  It could be as soon as 7 months from now or as long as 21 months.  We are praying it is sooner, rather than later.  Most families have a wait time of 11-13 months once they receive their referral.  We are still waiting for our referral.  We had our first meeting on October 27th, and started the home study the following month.  Our home study is finished and being reviewed.  Once our agency is done reviewing it, they will send it to South Korea.  Then, we wait patiently to get a referral of our child.  During that waiting period, we will work on US government paperwork called the I-600a.  There is ALWAYS paperwork to work on, but we prefer to be working on something while we wait.  Waiting is the hard part.  We already have space in our hearts for our next baby.  We can't wait to find out who they are and when they will be part of our forever family!
