God has been gracious to us and has been with us through our journey of love and life. He has carried us through some of the most difficult times and has given us joy in the midst of sorrow. He has also been loving and given us abundant blessings. Most importantly, He has provided us with faith. May we share that faith with others.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
"God's gifts put man's best dreams to shame".

July 2015

We have been soaking up the last bits of summer, since school will start soon.  This month was filled with as many activities as possible.  We went up to Michigan and went to the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor, went the Indianapolis Zoo, and spent time in Grandma Kusch's pool.

Indianapolis Zoo with Grandma Kusch, her friend Ellen Milligan, and some of her grandkids

The ride broke down and the people in the cart were stuck there for hours.  We felt so bad for them.  It was a hot day and the sun was shining on them.

One of my former drama students got married.  We enjoyed the reception.

VBS - Dave was in charge of games for the Preschool-1st grade. Both kids attended.  I taught the lesson to Preschool-1st grade.

Vision Screening - getting ready for Kindergarten

Dave's sisters and their families came to visit - lots of cousin time

We went to see Minions with Grandma Kusch

The kids got to meet their newest cousin - Gwenevere Mae

We stumbled upon this historic village in Northville.  It was neat to walk through.

Day Trip Week

This week was the first one all summer that wasn't filled with activities, so I decided to take a day trip each day with the kids.  I chose in-expensive/free activities.  I spent a total of $16 for all three of us.
Monday - Fort Wayne Children's Zoo
We have a zoo pass, so our admission was free.  I also already had a ride pass.  We did spend $2 to feed the goats and $2 to feed the giraffes.  We packed a picnic lunch.  We spent all morning at the zoo, ate lunch, and then went back into the zoo.  It was a beautiful, warm day.

Tuesday - Main Library
Tuesday was a rainy day, so we spent the morning at the Allen County Main Library.  The kids had never been to that branch.  They loved it.

Wednesday - Leo-Cedarville Park
On Wednesday morning I tutored, so after lunch we went to Leo-Cedarville Park. We timed our trip just right.  We left right before it began to rain.

Thursday - Carmike Cinema & Parkview Park
On Thursday mornings Carmike offers $4 movie tickets.  Each ticket includes a small bag of popcorn and a small drink.  We saw The Croods, which wasn't a spectacular movie, but the kids enjoyed being in the movie theater anyway.  After the movie we went across the street to Parkview Park, had a picnic lunch, and played.
Friday - Georgetown Library
Lilly has speech on Friday mornings, so we planned to do an afternoon activity.  We originally planned to go to the splash pad.  However, it was a little too cold to play in the water.  We decided to to stock up on more library books and get the kids' prizes for finishing their first round of reading in the summer reading program.
It was a great week!  These kids are so much fun regardless what we do.

Independence Day Weekend

For Independence Day this year we went up to Michigan and attended the fireworks at Greenfield Village.  The Detroit Symphony Orchestra performed the hour leading up to the fireworks and also during the show.  We also spent lots of time in the pool.  The weather was perfect.  We had a great time.
