Great Wolf Lodge
Thanks to Grandma Kusch, we had a little winter, weekend get-away to Great Wolf Lodge. The kids love the water park and we had never been to the one in Ohio. We went with the Harts. We all had a great time together. The power went out because of a wind storm, but we made the most of it by taking a little day trip to a near by town.

Chinese New Year 2016
We had a great time celebrating Chinese New Year, the year of the monkey. We decorated the house with all the crafts we made for previous New Years. I made sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, rice, we had Asian pears, and we had our dragon desserts (one of our favorites). After dinner the kids got to open their red envelopes. They got chocolate coins wrapped in gold wrappers. The kids were very excited!

January 2016
The weather has been unseasonably warm this January and we've loved it! We're getting back in to the groove of school and all our regular activities.
Lilly tried on her ballet costume for the spring ballet. Cute little frog!
Liam got pink eye - yuck. He then got Pneumonia - not fun.
Liam had to stay home from school because of the pink eye, but he felt fine, so we did science experiments.
Lilly fell asleep during supper.
Liam earned his first badge in karate - determination!
rhyming puzzle - one of our after school activities
Liam got perfect church attendance again 2nd quarter (he's in the front row)
100th Day of School
The kids got haircuts with me in Michigan
Lilly's clown hat - she went to the circus with her class
Liam wanted to make a robot costume
National Lutheran Schools Week - dress like a book character - Amelia Bedelia
It was 52* on January 31st. We went to the park!

Herman Christmas
We were all so thankful that Carol was home for Christmas. She seemed to enjoy being home with everyone visiting, despite the chaos that arrises when 22 people are in one place. We had a wonderful dinner... Aunt Sandi (Keith) was kind enough to make two pans of lasagna. Debbie and I filled in the rest of the meal and Helen Best made a birthday cake for Jesus. After dinner we opened gifts. Denny made two beautiful wooden decorations for our home. One was a potpourri holder and one was a candle holder. We were all just thankful for family! The rest of the week we had more family time together. The adults went out to eat. We hosted taco night at our house and broke in the basement. We had 5 of the nieces and nephews spend the night and they had a Star Wars marathon.
Carol sand Happy Birthday to Jesus along with the kids. Special moment - it was great to hear her sing.
The Herman girls all dolled up for New Years Eve.
