Cape Canaveral

We rested a bit today.  We spent a couple hours on the beach and then drove to the Disney Resort.  It was nice to have a low-key day.

Another thing on Liam's wish list was to go to Kennedy Space Center.  So, on September 9th, we got up early and drove from Legoland to Cape Canaveral.  Liam was so excited to see the rocket garden as we drove up.  Grandma Kusch paid for us to have lunch with astronaut, Don Thomas, and he talked about food in space.  One of the most memorable parts of the day was when we Liam saw the Atlantis Shuttle for the first time.  We watched a video about the space program and then a giant screen lifted up and behind it was Atlantis.  I got choked up seeing Liam's reaction.  Liam said, "This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."  I think he will remember that for the rest of his life!  We stayed in a hotel in Cape Canaveral that evening.  We walked on the beach at sunset.  It was so nice to see the ocean.
