God has been gracious to us and has been with us through our journey of love and life. He has carried us through some of the most difficult times and has given us joy in the midst of sorrow. He has also been loving and given us abundant blessings. Most importantly, He has provided us with faith. May we share that faith with others.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

"Pirates of the I Don't Care-ibbean" - Operetta 2019

Liam did a fantastic job performing in the Operetta!  He played a pirate.  He was quiet and timid during rehearsals, but finally found his voice and was nice and loud for the performances.  In addition to his speaking lines, he also got to dance to the "Pirate Chanty", which I choreographed.  It was the most fun dance, in my opinion.  The pirates for to sword fight during the dance.  It was a great show and definitely spread the Gospel.

Hard at practice

When he wasn't on stage, Liam was singing with the choir.

Liam's pal Brody played Captain Jack Cracker and did a great job.

Liam has really enjoyed having Miss Hockemeyer this year.  She is a phenomenal teacher!  I student tough with her 16 years ago and she has been my dear friend and encouraging colleague.  I am so thankful Liam had her fir his teacher this year.

Grandma & Grandpa Herman came to watch the show.

Isabelle Wellman, my former student, came to watch the show.  She babysits the kids when she is home from college.  She brought Liam a Purdue Basketball Jersey.

Dave's Birthday Surprise!

This year for Dave's birthday, the kids and I decided to surprise him with tickets to the last Purdue home basketball game of the season.  When Dave got home from work on Friday, we had him open his gift.  Inside were the tickets.  Then, we said, "Get dressed, we're leaving soon."  We hopped in the car and went down to West Lafayette.  We stayed in a hotel and the kids got to swim before bed.  The next morning, we enjoyed a breakfast, watched the players come down (apparently, they stayed in the same hotel), the kids swam again, and then we walked around campus.  The game was at 2pm against Ohio State.  Purdue blew them away. It was a fun game.  It was also Senior night, so we got to hear the graduating players speak.  When the game was over, we headed back home.  I think Dave had a great weekend.  It's a birthday he will not forget.
