God has been gracious to us and has been with us through our journey of love and life. He has carried us through some of the most difficult times and has given us joy in the midst of sorrow. He has also been loving and given us abundant blessings. Most importantly, He has provided us with faith. May we share that faith with others.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Lilly's 4th Birthday

We can't believe Lilly is 4!   It seems like we just brought her home.  However, it is also hard to remember a time without her.  Lilly is blossoming into a such a great little girl.  Right now she sings little songs all the time.  She loves to count and color.  She loves to dress up.  She is a Daddy's girl and loves to help Mom.  She is affectionate and funny.  She is determined and strong.  She also loves to do ballet.
Lilly is our little princess, so her party reflected that.  There was a lot of pink and purple in the house this week.  We ate lunch, watched Lilly open gifts, and then had sweets (high heel cupcakes, sugar cookies, and ice cream).  We did't even cut into the castle cake.  There was a serious game of 5 Crowns.  There were also crafts - decorate your own tiara, make your own necklace, and coloring.  Everyone seemed to have a great time and Lilly especially enjoyed the day.

Liam really wanted to wear his suit to the party.  He and I decorated our crown before the party started, so we were ready to go once people arrived.

Kindergarten Field Trip - Fort Wayne Children's Zoo

Liam had his very first Kindergarten field trip today and I was able to be a chaperone.  We were able to see the baby giraffe, attend zoo school, and visit the new exhibit, Stingray Bay.  The boys in my group got along really well.  Liam rode the bus for the first time, which was also very exciting.  As we were walking out to the pavilion for lunch it began to pour.  We got soaked!  We ate our picnic lunch in the classroom.  We were eager to get home and get on dry clothes.  I'm sure this will be a field trip we never forget.

August 2015

It's hard to believe we are into the swing of our school schedule.  We have been in school for three weeks already.  In addition to starting school, Lilly started ballet, and Liam started Karate.  They both really love their activities.  It's still hard to believe that I have children in Kindergarten and Preschool.  We still managed to have a lot of fun family moments even though we're back into the fall routine.

On our way to school

Lilly decided to use markers as make-up.  She wasn't very happy that I washed it off.

Liam had s much fun looking for the Gingerbread man at school that he wanted to recreate the experience at home.

If all the things to see at the zoo, the kids were fascinated with the baby robin.

Detroit Zoo
There was a cool Dinosaur exhibit on display while we were there.

Astronaut Liam

For our Friday night family time, we let Liam pick a restaurant.  He picked McDonalds (no surprise there).  We went to one with a big play place.  They had an old-school tree.
