It's been a fun month. The biggest news this month is that we got a puppy. Mars Apollo joined our family. We went to Goldendoodle Dandy in Ohio to look at puppies. Liam had researched dog breeds and we settled on a golden doodle, because of their sweet temperament and the fact that they don't shed. We thought all the puppies in the current litters had been spoken for. However, when we got there, there was one little boy who hadn't been picked. He was the runt of the litter with both parents being golden doodles. Typically, golden doodles are bred with a poodle father and golden retriever mother. Mars is considered a miniature golden doodle. He should only get to be 30 pounds. He is considered cream colored, even though he has sandy spots. We talked with the owner and asked him many questions. Once we were finished asking our questions, he told us about Mars, and asked if we wanted to meet him. When Mars came out, he went right up to Liam and got on his hind legs (wanting to be held). When I held him, he fell asleep. We knew from his sweet disposition and small size, he was the right dog for us! We also got to see Mars' parents to get an idea what he would look like as an adult. We thought we were getting a girl originally, so we had to think of a new name. All the way home we thought of names. Finally, we all agreed on Liam's name of Mars Apollo (Liam's favorite planet and mission). It's nice having a dog again. We sure loved Daisy and didn't know if any other dog would fit in our family.
The kids got window crayons in their Easter basket, which they couldn't wait to try out.
