Dave and Chris both enjoy learning about history, especially American History. We took a day trip (only about an hour from Hershey) to Gettysburg. We toured the visitor's center and then did a driving tour around the battlefield. That was the best way to go through the battlefield. The CD spoke as we drove from stop to stop and then gave a story as we sat at the stop. We also brought some books along. We read "Who Is Milton Hershey?" on the way and "What is the Battle of Gettysburg" on the way to Gettysburg. Some of the information we heard on the CD overlapped with what we read in the book. Liam had already read the I Survived book about the battle of Gettysburg. Liam and Lucy pretended to be soldiers. The weather held off, which was great. It only rained while we were in the visitor's center.
After getting back to the resort in Hershey, Grandma Kusch watched the kids so the adults could go on a date. We went to the outlet mall, which was right by our hotel, and then went to dinner in downtown Hershey, which is called Chocolate Town.
