God has been gracious to us and has been with us through our journey of love and life. He has carried us through some of the most difficult times and has given us joy in the midst of sorrow. He has also been loving and given us abundant blessings. Most importantly, He has provided us with faith. May we share that faith with others.

Adoption Update

We just got a message from our adoption agency today, which read...

Hi Herman family!
We received your home study, summary, referral profile, and photos in our office and sent them off to Holt! Holt has confirmed receipt of the packet, so you are now officially waiting for a referral. Although the wait for a referral can be a year or more, we are currently experiencing much shorter timeframes, with referrals typically coming 1-4 months from the home study’s arrival in Korea. During your wait, you should continue working diligently to complete your required training hours, as the next set of 10 hours must be completed before referral. If you have any questions about training hours, Barb will be happy to assist you.
You will likely not hear much from our Korea team until a referral is received, but we will stay in communication through quarterly program updates, and you are always welcome to reach out to us with any questions. We hope to be in touch within the next few months with a referral!
Elisabeth, Korea team

So, now we wait... again.  While we wait we need to complete 10 hours of training.  We've already completed 10 hours during the Homestudy phase. We will have to complete 10 more hours after our referral before we get our child, for a total of 30 hours each (60 combined hours).  During this time we also need to have our I-600A completed.  That packet has been sent to the USCIS and we are waiting approval.  We will need to get fingerprinted again for this approval as well.

The theme these days is - TRUST AND WAIT!
